Sims 3 Finds: Tears

Eventually, I will make a longer list of Sims 3 Custom Content Finds but I only have a few minutes to blog today. For all you Sim storytellers and photographers, Kero7243 has created realistic tears for your Sims.

You can download the tears here.

Sims 3 Custom Content Finds: TMNT and Grumpy Cat

Hello Simmers!

I just wanted to share some downloads that I found of some custom kitties! Have you ever wanted Raphael, Donatelle, Michangelo or Leonardo in your game? Well, what about Tard... you know the one they all call "Grumpy Cat"...? Well now you can thanks to CatLover800!

She has many more beautiful cats for your games. I've never been one to play with the Pets EP much but having Grumpy Cat mixed with TMNT kittens in my game has made me have a house full of cats.

You can find Calista's wonderful cat and kitten creations here.

Sims 3 University Life: Street Cred & Art

Hello Simmers!

I haven't had much time to play the Sims but for those of you who may not have University yet or still haven't explored all the options with the Street Art skills, I wanted to post some pictures for you all. There are some really neat artwork that your Sims can create.

My Sim is level 10 in Street Art:

It has taken a lot to get my Sims to a Level 10... and many times getting them arrested.

University Life: First Impressions

First, I absolutely LOVE this EP! This is probably the best EP they have released for the Sims 3.  As I mentioned before, I really wasn't into the whole University Life EP, I wanted something else that could enhance gameplay in a more adult and mature way. Sometimes I feel that EA seem to market the game towards their younger crowd: "woohoo", "juice", "pillow fight", "make funny face". Really EA? There's a HUGE crowd of adult Sim players who would love more realistic content. With that said, they are on the right track with University! The new herb interactions are a nice, new touch; As well as the "woohooty text", "juiced kiss", "juiced woohoo", etc. these all add new ways to play the game without feeling like you're being restricted to a game for a 12 year old. The new interactions are great and I love the new interaction with the photos on the wall, "Reminisce", now your Sims can look at photographs and remember the good times. I've always wanted something like this for wall photos and now we have it! Your Sim also gets a new moodlet when they reminisce. Moving along...

Parties:
I haven't had a chance to play with all of the party modes but the new parties add a lot of new interactions and fun to the game. You WILL be invited to a LOT of parties while at University so be prepared. Of course, you don't have to attend all of them but if you're aiming to attempt a Social Status, you will need to attend at least some of the parties and interact with the Sims that are in that certain Social Group. It's kind of like the Celebrity System, but the Social Status platform has been thought out a bit more compared to the Celebrities. More about that in a bit though.

  • Keg Parties are pretty fun to attend and throw. The Keg is probably one of my favorite new objects in the game. It hasn't gotten old yet! Getting "Juiced" is fun but does not offer any new interactions such as your Sims appearing to be inebriated or the such but it does unlock new interactions for your Sims. Juiced Kiss, Juiced Woohoo, Juiced Jump into Arms, etc. The animations are still pretty much the same but these are located under FRIENDLY and ROMANTIC. For example, if you're at a Jock Party/Keg Party and get an opportunity to "Woohoo", if you use the Juiced Woohoo interaction under friendly your Sim will kiss the selected Sim and make their way to the nearest Woohoo spot. A post on the Sims 3 Forum said that this would not make the Sims romantically involved but with my experience, this hasn't been the case. A "Friendly Juiced Woohoo" resulted in the Sims becoming romantic interests... unfortunately.
  • Bon Fire Parties are also fun but seem to go along with the Keg Parties. The bonfire object is a neat object that your Sims can interact with and pile on the wood to make a large fire. Your Rebel Sims can also throw herbs into the fire which put the Sims in different moods. I haven't played with all of the herbs but the Cinnamon makes your Sim feel romantic. There's a few others that increase the speed of learning the athletic trait and others that increase your learning/studying.

Social Status:
I won't go into too much detail because there's a lot to the statuses. However, you can choose to climb one social status, two or all three. The new statuses are: Rebel, Jock and Nerd. As you climb higher in each status your Sim will unlock new interactions, traits, etc. This can be hard work, especially if you're busy partying, studying, exploring town, romancing a Sim and trying to graduate on time. However, this is a much needed type of gameplay in my opinion. I don't mind working to unlock interactions and getting to add a trait.

Smartphone:
  • As you play the game and progress in Social Networking, Social Networks, etc., you will unlock new skins for your phone.
  • Social Networking: Blogging is a new feature which is really fun but a lot of hard work. You aim to write posts and gain followers and donations to your blog. As you continue climbing your way to the top of Social Networking a great new Relationship Altering Application will unlock for your Sim. It first allows to you set the relationships for Sims up to the friendship level. As you rank higher in the Social Networking skill, setting Sims relationships to romantic, etc. unlocks. This is a great feature for those who want to alter relationships quickly without a Mod to do so.

There's so much to explore and do in University. It's like a breath of fresh air! I have only touched on a part of the Sims 3 University Life- there's more you will have to explore, unlock and find out for yourselves. I assure you that this EP is worth every penny! This is how EPs are supposed to be done. This EP is packed with new objects, gameplay, and interactions. This is exactly how the Sims 3 should have been years ago with EP releases. Did I mention I'm also playing this EP WITHOUT mods? I haven't done that in years, ever since Twallan's Mods were released for the Sims 3. This EP feels complete without any mods. However, when my Sims return home from University, I find that I still need the Mods to make the gameplay at home feel more packed with options. That's saying something EA... In conclusion, this EP is amazing and so fun to play and explore. There's so much more left for me to explore with University but everything that I have experienced thus far has been amazing and loads of fun. I find myself not wanting to do anything but Sim and I haven't felt like that about the Sims 3 in years. Way to go EA and Maxis!

Sims 3: Carter Legacy: Day 1 Lucky Palms

Beautiful shot in Lucky Palms.
"Uhm... sorry that I asked about your zodiac sign. My bad.
Soon as Jason got into town he started hitting on any and everything he could find...
Let me try to get to know this one... she looks like she'd be interested.
And yet again... this time his pick up lines worked. However, she's the town bike. If you have Twallan's Story Progression Mod, you know exactly what that is.
Yep. Definitely interested.
To ease into the new neighborhood Jason decided to throw a pool party for the neighborhood. He couldn't seem to keep his hands off of this one (can't remember her name) though. She ended up getting a phone call and leaving, so Jason decided to walk across the street to meet yet another girl in Lucky Palms.
No, I want this one.
Trying his charm once again he gained a friend with Aniyah... after persuading her to be his friend, he started the pick up lines once again...
DAMN!
and that's where he met her husband Aaron. Jason and Aaron didn't get along at first and Jason had to do a lot of apologizing but in the end Aaron seemed to be interested in Jason and are now the best of friends.... strangely enough.
Okay, on to the next one. She's a keeper.
Soon thereafter Jason got bored and was looking for another girl... he ran across the street to the local thrift store and soon found another Sim, Jana, that he was interested in. He invited her back to the pool party with him and she accepted his invitation.
"You can even stand under my umbrella... ella... ella... ay, ay..."
Unfortunately for Jason, as soon as he was about to make some moves on her in the hot tub it started to rain. Jana ran off and hopped in her car and left. Not sure where she was going but she was gone in the blink of an eye. After Jana left in such a hurry Jason thought it would be best to go and entertain the other guests... and possibly find another girl that he was interested in and get to know her better; to his surprise all of the party guests had already left.
"What the hell kind of day was this... I hate Lucky Palms."
Jason wasn't too happy after all of the unfortunate events of his first day in Lucky Palms... he sat down beside the pool, alone, and was furious. He kept this look on his face for about 2 minutes in game. lol Poor Jason.

Sims 3 Store (some freebies-links included)

Many of you probably already have these but if you don't, I wanted to post some of them here for you. For anyone who doesn't visit the Sims 3 Store- there are a few nice items you can pick up for free.

I used to only be interested in CC made by the Sims Community and Players but after a lot of headaches and issues in the Sims 2, I've decided to keep a lot of CC out of my game for TS3. I still use Skins, Eyes, Hair and some clothing but NOTHING like I used to. I've found that the Store, yes, is high but I've been happy with MOST of the content that I have purchased from there.

This is NOT the total list, this is just some of the freebies that are "hard" to find compared to the others.

Sims 3 University Life

Who's excited for University Life?!

At first I wasn't excited for this EP as I was truly wishing and hoping for an "Open For Business" type of EP to be released soon. However, the new interactions, smartphone and bowling alley have my interest. I guess it will be fun to vicariously live through my Sims to revisit my college days and old bad study habits. After much hesitation, I finally pre-ordered the game through Origin last night... hopefully the game will release at Midnight for download like Seasons did. If you don't have Seasons yet and don't mind digital downloads, EA has a great sale going on... if you pre-order University Life, you can get Seasons at 50% off. I already have Seasons but for those who don't: when I pre-ordered University Life, there was a message about adding Seasons to my cart for $19.99, so I believe you have to pay for both games at the same time. I don't believe there is a code to purchase Seasons at the discount price at a later date.

What are some of your ideas for University? How will you play and what objects, interactions, etc. are you anxious to get your Simming hands on?

Come on March 5th!

Hello and Welcome!

Hi All!

I will be using this blog for my own Sims 3 game updates, projects, finds and updates.

For my first post, this will be regarding the Sims 3. I have been playing the Sims for about 10 years now and have finally decided to actually join in on some of the community events and forums. Please feel free to comment, blog and friend me and please feel free to share your legacies with me!

I will be doing my own type of legacy because I can't be restricted to so many rules found on the sims3.com forum right now. Maybe you guys could let me know of some other legacies? I might even start my own for all of you to join in on.

To start, here is a picture of my first "founder" Sim; Jason Carter. Here's to the Carter Legacy.

**Note** I am a full-time business owner so I do not have as much time to play the Sims as a lot of other people but I do plan on trying to play at least 3 times a week, even if it's only for a few minutes. Is there such thing as playing the Sims for only a few minutes? I don't think so but it may happen occasionally. I'll at least pop in to update or link to some Sim goodies I've found.
